Skeffington Palmer and Catherine Hepwell lived in Dungonnell and are
associated with Mount Cottage. They had numerous children between
1820 and 1836 including Sarah Ann who married Clements Bell and emigrated,
Elizabeth Palmer who married Andrew Harper, John Skeffington Palmer who
married Margaret Moore, Amelia who married John Harper probably and
emigrated, Walter Palmer who married Margaret Luney, Arabella who married
John McNeilly, Matilda Jane who married Alexander Gault, and Catherine
Palmer who married Samuel Baker. They were associated with St
Catherine's COI in Killead.

William John Palmer and Susan Boyd married in 1864. William's
father was Arthur. They had many children up to 1881 at least.
Many emigrated to America and Canada. These included a James
Palmer who married a Rebecca McIntyre in 1896 and has many children
including a Mabel Susanna Palmer in 1911 who emigrated to Canada. A
Hugh Palmer who married Margaret bell and are in Toronto 1911. A
Joseph palmer who married Rachel Livingstone. |

Chichester Palmer and Elizabeth Dougherty married in 1847, Randalstown.
Chichester was living in Bow Lane, Antrim Town in the First Griffiths
evaluation but is not seen in any of he reevaluations after this
time. They have children up to 1861 at least: Samuel, Robert,
William John, Walter, Chichester, Henry and Maria. Some baptisms are
seen in Muckamore Church of Ireland. Chichester is a witness on a
marriage between a Samuel and Margaret McGarry/Lewis in Muckamore.
Chichester is described as a labourer and a watchman in the records.
Some did not marry and were found together in 1911 Mountcollyer
Street Belfast. |

Samuel [Son of Chichester
Above] and Jane Quinn married in 1872. Samuel was a
stationmaster in Larne and finally in Whitehead where he died in
1914. They had many children including Matthew Legg Palmer,
Elizabeth Legge Palmer, Chichester, William Quinn, Samuel James Alexander,
Robert, Annie Sewell, John, Wilhelmina Jane. His wife probably
emigrated to Vancouver Canada after Sam's death. Some of the
children were also there. |

William John Palmer [Son of
Chichester Above] married Maria Allison in 1879. William
John was a stationmaster/head porter. He died in Galgorm Road,
Ballymena 1916. They had several children including Elizabeth who
married Robert James Russell in 1901, Annie R, Mabel and William.

Walter Palmer [Son of
Chichester Above] married Jane Gilmore in 1885 and had William
Morrow, Chichester, Jane Gilmore who married John Kelly, and Frances
Isabella. He married Margaret Berryman in 1855 and had Georgina
Magowan, Walker Hamilton, Annie Berryman and Jennifer. When Walter
died some of the family may have moved to Church Road, Randalstown.
He was an engine driver. |

John Palmer and Mable Madden married in 1833 Randalstown. They
had a Margaret who married Daniel Barr [associated with the Barrs of
Antrim who owned the bicycle shop]. They had several children
including a Henry Barr who died young in Ballyclare [rose Cairns witness],
2 others Annie and Daniel are living near Mossley in 1901-1911 with a
Maggie Storey, John Barr marries Margaret Butler and works on the
railways until retiring back to Whiteabbey. They also had a Samuel who married Rachel Kinnon
and then Annie McGarry. They may have had a James who married in
Banbridge and a John. 3 of their children were born in Ballyrobin.
They lived in Islandbane up to about 1880 and then lived in Ballyclare
with their Son Samuel a stationmaster there.

Samuel Palmer married Rachel Kinnon and then Annie McGarry. They
had several children including: Margaret Rebecca Ellen who married a
Frederick McCurry from Coleraine and emigrated to Philadelphia; Mabel who
married a William McCracken associated with Dunboe Presbyterian Church;
Sarah Palmer who married a Thomas Dalrymple from Kells and emigrated to
Canada; Samuel Palmer who married a Elizabeth McClean in Dundee and
lived in Glasgow. Samuel died after an accident on the
railways. Annie McGarry and her children lived near Mossley. |

Laurencetown RC. They had 2 daughters Mary Ann
and Elizabeth who died young. They had two sons Samuel and
John. They lived in Church Square/Street Banbridge near Matthew
Strain and he was a carpenter [1901 census]. They don't seem to be
there in 1911. John the father has died - where did they go?
He was born in 1840-1850 in Co Antrim. His father was John -possibly
John Palmer and Mabel Madden.

and Esther had another John Palmer 1913 while living at Hill Street
Banbridge
just round the corner from Church Square. This was to an Annie
Reid. I think Annie lived
in Banbridge quite a while.

There is a Thomas Palmer
living in Downing Street who may be a bit confusing as I believe he
may have married 3 times. His occupation has varied between a
labourer, coal dealer and bar owner. His father was Richard
a servant. It appears that he married Mary
Ann Murray in 1857 who died in 1879, Martha Smith in 1881 who
died in 1895 and then Isabella Abernethy in 1897. The
children included a Richard who married Jane McMaw, a John
Henry who married Annie Lowe and George who married Mary
Hall. He also had an Alice, David and Mary Ann
at least. |

had several children. They were actually married in Broughshane
Presbyterian in 1859 and had several children including a Thomas James,
Matilda, Jane, John [probably died], Margaret, Eliza, Hannah Mary,
Alexander. Some of these children went to Canada and married
there. I think they may have been orphaned at an early age...not
sure. They
lived in Belfast for a while - Collyer Street mentioned a lot and also
Lawther Street. Off the Limestone Road.
John who married Mary Eccles - his father
was Henderson Palmer. There is probably a connection to the

Presbyterian 1869 and had a Thomas William Palmer in MacKay [Lawther Street to Robina Street]
street and Isabella Mervue Street. He was a Shipping Clerk.
His father was James.
He may have been a brother to Henry
Palmer a Butler, father James [a farmer] who married Annie Burnside? Campbell in 1876
in Ballymoney Presbyterian. Witnesses William and Cecilia [?
or Clare?] Campbell. He was living in Belfast at the time.
They had several children: Henry who married Ellen Arnold
[a stationer], Walter Campbell [married Florence McDougall],
Nellie, Samuel [a Commercial Clerk]. They lived on Dromore
Street, Belfast.
